About A Boy Goes to About A Girl

It's a mash up!  The gals that scrap boys are switching up with the gals that scrap girls.  That's right!  The whole About A Boy DT is taking over at About A Girl, while they are taking their turn at About A Boy!

Here is my LO for About A Girl.

"Love"

The Challenge this month is to use black and white plus one other color.  I used Dylusion's Calypso Teal.  If there is color variation, it is due to the material that I sprayed, dabbed or stamped the color onto.  The lace and the beautiful butterflies that I used were a RAK from the Renea.  You can visit her Etsy store here.  She also makes altered items, albums, flowers besides the delicious butterflies.

Thanks for stopping by!
Be sure to check out the challenges at About A Boy and About A Girl!

Drunken Stampers # 138: Party Planner

This week's challenge is brought to you by the Tropical Hooters:

Make a card about a party planner or any celebration.

Easy enough?

I wanted something involving drinks, since we are the Drunken Stampers.  That just feels right!
The women were drinking tea, but I cut those tiny, proper cups right off the chipboard.  My apologizes as I do not know who makes this chipboard piece, I received it as a RAK.  (Thanks, E!)  I used black diamond Stickles on the ladies.

The background paper and the doily sticker are from the Echo Park "Here and Now" collection.  The paper behind the ladies is stamped with 3rd Eye's Decorative Glass stamp in Distress ink worn lipstick.  Those cute cocktail glasses are from Wonderstrange and represent my first time to ever use digital stamps.  I am envying those ladies with their huge glasses!

I made up my own sentiment and printed it out on card stock, which I folded and then attached the front of the card.

Thanks for taking a look and joining us at Drunken Stampers!
Cheers!

Made for a Friend

I've been working (not very hard or steady) on a tag and ATCs for a friend.  She sent me a nice little package today!  This is what she gets in return.  Thanks for looking!

Anything Goes at About a Boy!

It is "Anything Goes" for the August mid-month challenge at About A Boy.  You still have to include that special guy in your life.  This month I chose my husband.

The story behind this sketch is that I do not like to fly.  My husband LOVES to fly.  He grew up wanting to be a pilot.  His job has let him fly helicopters and airplanes.  He received his private pilot's license in 2009 (ish).  Did I mention that I don't like to fly?

As he is getting close to retirement, he wants to build his own airplane.  He was considering a one seater.  I thought that seemed pretty lonely and I was regretting that I have not taken part of one of his favorite things in life.  So I finally crawled into that tiny plane and let him take me for a ride.

This is the plane.

I took this with my iPhone as proof that I was 1,000 feet in the air.

My "Anything Goes" lay out, "Fly With Me."

Am I not lovely in a headset?  All I know is that my husband was ecstatic that I finally flew.  He remained in disbelief for a whole week.

I was fine.  No panic attack.  Didn't get airsick.  I think I can travel this way!  No regrets, baby!

Because I NEED these!

UmWowStudio! has 12 brand new masks for sale.  Buy all 12 for $45 (just for this week), or if you just want a few, each one is $4.50.  Or you could blog, pin, tweet, or share the news!  But you shouldn't because I NEED these!  Mine!

I need the light bulb and the star confetti at a bare minimum!

Believe in Yourself

The August Challenge is up over at Punky Scraps.  This month has a great mood board with some gorgeous colors.

You also need to dig out some chipboard and use it for this challenge.  Show us how you like to decorate yours, or if you like to leave it natural.  You have plenty of time to play along, the challenge closes 15 August!

I started the background with modeling paste, Art Anthology and Lumiere paint. Then I stamped between the flowers with white ink.  I should have done the stamping first, but that's life.

The chipboard pieces on this LO is glammed up and left naked.  I am as versatile as chipboard can be.

I don't usually scrap myself, but since this is my birth month, you're going to have to put up with looking at me!

Drunken Stampers Challenge 136

This is my debut at Drunken Stampers!

 Your Challenge Card

Are you feeling beachy?

I chose to go with my new 3rd Eye stamps.  I love the sea horses.  On the background I used gesso, cheese cloth and Distress Inks.  The sea horses were stamped on a cream colored paper, embossed with a multicolored powder, and then I used Distress Markers for shading.  The seahorses were then mounted on chipboard to add depth.  After I stitched across the top on bottom of the card, I glued on a bottle, which was filled with Fun Flock, a Tim Holtz charm, and some sea shells.  Some of those shells I brought back from my vacation to South Carolina this summer.

Enter your card at Drunken Stampers.  You have until 16 August to upload your submission.  Come be our "Life of the Party!"
