Farm Life

Remember that little boy on the stairs I posted a few entries ago?  That was my Great Grandfather.  Here he is again.  I used this for the May Round Robin at Scraps of Darkness.  The white horse is Queenie and the brown is Pet.

If you look closely, you can see that I used the Harlequin mask twice.  The first time I used it with Blended fibers, which dry clear, leaving a textured, blocking effect.  The second time I used modeling paste.  The Modeling Paste absorbed the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Spray, while I could blot the excess off of the dried Blended Fibers.

Newman ~ Blue Fern Studios May Sketch Challenge

I decided to enter the Blue Fern Studios May Sketch Challenge.  I don't have the lovely fence that was used, but I had a flowery vine.

challenge#66 - cover at scrapki-wyzwaniowo

On Facebook at Paper People group (search for it on Facebook!  Amazing!) I found a "Cover" challenge for journals.  I just happened to have a Dylusions journal that I haven't done anything with yet.  I love art journaling.  I just haven't delved into it myself.  Where is the best place to start art journaling?  With a cover contest.

The contest is open to everyone.  No particular product needed!

I used gesso on the cover, then sprayed it with Dylusions sprays (black and Calypso Teal), with a bit of the White Linen, which blended and smudged some of the colors.  I recommend the Dylusion's White Linen spray, it shows up opaque white on dark surfaces.  Love!  I used Black Diamond Stickles over some of the black swirls.

The other embellishments are from Graphic 45, Prima and the Tim Holtz line.  The paper doll is Grace Kelly, which I purchased off Ebay.
